«Revisitando a Mari: seminario teórico-práctico»

“Revisitando a Mari” es una formación teórico-practico en 2 partes dirigida a ofrecer una revisión crítica y actualizada sobre la figura principal del panteón vasco, analizando las influencias histórico-culturales que moldearon sus representaciones y aspectos, su rol en la cosmovisión local, su evolución a lo largo del tiempo, junto a las creencias y ritos folclóricos asociados a su culto.
La sesión teórica (2h) estará pregrabada y disponible el 17 de mayo, abordando estos contenidos:
1) El papel de Mari en la cosmovisión vasca en los 3 planos de existencia
2) Recorrido histórico por las culturas que convivieron en los territorios vascos e influenciaron la definición de la Dama
3) Aspectos y manifestaciones de Mari, con variaciones según zonas
4) Relación de Mari con otros númenes y espíritus (Maju, Akerbeltz, Aatxegorri, Etsai, Lamiak, Sorginak…)
La sesión práctica (2h), se emitirá en Zoom el 24 de mayo a las 17:00, ofreciendo orientaciones aplicadas, espacio de preguntas y debate sobre:
5) Formas de mostrar respeto a la Dama
6) Tabúes y comportamientos a evitar
7) Cambios a lo largo de la historia en las prácticas para reverenciarla
8) Protocolos básicos para construir y mantener un vínculo con ella
Ambas sesiones quedarán grabadas para su posterior consulta. Cada una incluye presentaciones con su bibliografía y materiales de ampliación. Se dará acceso a foro para intercambiar reflexiones y se podrán enviar consultas privadas por email.
Las grabaciones, presentaciones, materiales y foro estarán disponibles durante 1 mes.

“Revisiting Mari” is a two-part theoretical–practical course designed to offer a critical and up-to-date reappraisal of the principal figure within the Basque pantheon. It explores the historical and cultural influences that have shaped her various representations and aspects, her role within the local cosmology, her evolution over time, and the beliefs and folk rites associated with her veneration.
The theoretical session (2 hours) will be pre-recorded and available from 16th May, covering the following topics:
1) Mari’s role in the Basque cosmology across the three planes of existence
2) A historical overview of the cultures that coexisted in the Basque territories and influenced the definition of the Lady
3) The aspects and manifestations of Mari, including regional variations
4) Mari’s relationship with other numinous beings and spirits (Maju, Akerbeltz, Aatxegorri, Etsai, Lamiak, Sorginak, etc.)
The practical session (2 hours) will be delivered live via Zoom on 23rd May at 18:00 (Spanish time), offering applied guidance, a space for questions, and discussion on:
5) Ways of showing respect to the Lady
6) Taboos and behaviours to avoid
7) Historical changes in the practices used to workship her
8) Basic protocols for building and maintaining a bond with her
Both sessions will be recorded and made available for later consultation. Each includes presentation materials with corresponding bibliography and further resources. Participants will also have access to a forum for exchanging reflections, and private enquiries may be submitted via email.
All recordings, presentations, materials, and forum access will remain available for one month.
